Have an image or an idea of what you would like to place on your customised coin? Send us an image, artwork or a description of what you would like to place on the coin. This will also help us determine how we will customise your coin. Coins can either be stamped with a coin Die of the artwork of your choice or if it is a simpler design such as just wording, we can laser engrave the coin. The coin requires artwork for the front and back – but we do have a large library of generic Dies we can use for one side, should you wish to place artwork on only one side.

WHAT IS A STEEL COIN DIE?

Coin Dies are made out of hardened steel and are capable of producing many hundreds of thousands of coins before they are retired.

The coin Die will have the reverse image cut onto it so that it can be placed into a minting press, where the image will then be pressed onto the coin.

Coin Dies can be used to mint 2D or 3D images onto a coin. The detail and complexity of the artwork will determine if a 2D or 3D coin Die needs to be manufactured.

Once we have been provided with the artwork or description of what you would like to customise your coin with, we will provide you with a quote for the Coin or Bar as well as the Die. Once the quote has been accepted, our talented artists will make a rendering of the artwork for you to review. Our talented artists can produce both 2D and 3D renderings, whichever is required.

Once the rendering is signed-off, a scaled 2D image will be provided for final sign-off on the design of the coin. Once signed-off, the manufacturing of the Die will begin. This can take between 2 – 4 weeks dependent on if a 2D or 3D Die is required.

Once the Die has been manufactured, the coin or bar will be blanked and minted with your customised Die.

T&C: Please note that the payment by the client for the Die is an organisation fee. All Dies remain the property of Silk Route Gold (Pty) Ltd. Your customised Die will not be used for another customer.
